From Galicia to the Balearics
The path of totality crosses the peninsula from west to east: the Moon’s shadow enters through Galicia and leaves via the Balearic Islands, with totality between 20:27 and 20:33 local time (CEST). Of Spain’s 8,217 municipalities, 4,134 lie inside the path.
A very low Sun
It happens almost at sunset, with the Sun only a few degrees above the horizon: you will need a clear western horizon — no mountains, buildings or haze in the way. Pick your spot in advance.
The first since 1905
It is the first total solar eclipse visible from mainland Spain since 1905 — and the same night peaks the Perseid meteor shower. The next chance comes in 2027, across the far south.
